Bear and Boar stack ATK and hit hard -- exactly what Porcupine wants. Quill Armor reflects 25% of every hit back, and Spike Shield pushes that to 75%. The harder they hit, the faster they kill themselves. Porcupine just needs to survive, which HP investment handles.
Buffalo relies on Iron Will's heal and WIL regen to outlast opponents. Venom Gland halves all that healing, and Tail Strike ignores 50% of Buffalo's damage reduction. Against Viper, Scorpion's anti-heal cripples Hemotoxin's sustain value and Shed Skin's healing.
Tanks with high HP pools and low damage are Vulture's ideal prey. Carrion Feeder scales as the fight drags on, and tanks can't burst Vulture down. Buffalo and Rhino slowly lose the attrition war as Vulture's damage ramps up and Feast keeps it healthy.
Bulwark Frame reduces any big hit by 35%, directly neutralizing burst strategies. Bear's Fury Protocol hits, Tiger's Ambush Wiring opener, and Panther's Shadow Stalk damage all get shaved down. Fortify stacks even more damage reduction on top.
Hemotoxin deals small per-tick DOT damage that slips under Rhino's Bulwark Frame threshold. Against Buffalo, the constant DOT pressure bypasses Thick Hide (which only helps on the first hit) and slowly drains the HP pool that tanks rely on.
Cunning reduces opponent proc rates by 30%, gutting Wolf's entire kit (Pack Sense can't compensate) and making Monkey's copied abilities almost never fire. Trick adds insult to injury by stealing procs when they do happen.
Aerial Advantage grants +15% dodge and +1 movement range, letting Eagle kite slow tanks indefinitely. Buffalo and other low-SPD builds simply cannot close the gap. Eagle whittles them down with safe attacks and saves Dive for the finish.
Tiger's raw burst via Ambush Wiring (2x first hit) kills Scorpion before its debuffs accumulate. Against Eagle, Tiger's superior SPD means Ambush Wiring triggers reliably, and Hamstring strips Eagle's dodge and speed -- grounding it.
Porcupine's reflect does nothing against Viper's DOT or Scorpion's poison -- those bypass melee damage entirely. Panther's burst opener gets reflected back by Porcupine's quills, and Fox's Trick steals Panther's procs.
Raw ATK fighters don't rely on procs to deal damage. Cunning barely affects them since their power comes from stat-based passives (Fury Protocol, Charge) and pure attack values, not proc frequency.
Rock-paper-scissors cycles that ensure no single animal dominates the meta.
Bear bursts Vulture down before it can scale. Vulture outlasts Rhino in attrition. Rhino's Bulwark Frame absorbs Bear's burst.
Scorpion's anti-heal shuts down Viper's sustain. Viper's DOT slips under Rhino's burst reduction. Rhino tanks Scorpion's damage and hits back harder.
Fox's Cunning cripples Wolf's proc-heavy kit. Wolf's Rend bleed and sustained pressure wears Viper down. Viper's DOT bypasses Fox's evasion (can't dodge poison ticking on you).
Porcupine reflects Bear's heavy hits right back. Bear's raw damage and Fury Protocol overwhelm Eagle before kiting matters. Eagle's mobility and dodge let it avoid Porcupine's reflect entirely (no need to hit hard into quills).
